Short version: we don’t collect personal information, we don’t use cookies, and we don’t sell or share data.
What stays on your device
Your onboarding answers, checklist ticks, last-viewed timeline grade, last searched ZIP code, and school club ticks are saved in your browser’s storage on this device only. They are never sent to us or anyone else. To erase them, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
What we don’t do
No accounts, no sign-up forms, no cookies, no ads, no advertising trackers, and no selling or sharing of data. We never ask about immigration status.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which, like any web host, processes basic request information (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and keep the service secure.
Analytics
We count visits anonymously with Vercel Web Analytics. It doesn’t use cookies, and it never sees your answers, which stay on your phone. It records only which page was opened, the site you came from, and general details like country or region, browser, and device type. Vercel tells visits apart using a temporary code that is discarded after 24 hours, so no one can be followed over time.
Visit counter
The number of family visits in the header is a single running total. When you first open the site in a browser session, your browser tells our own site to add 1. Nothing else is sent or kept: no IP address, no cookie, and no ID. A small note in your browser’s session storage stops the same visit being counted twice, and it’s erased when you close the browser. The total is stored with Upstash, a database service connected to our host, Vercel.
Feedback emails
The feedback page opens your own email app. We only see what you choose to send, plus the page you were on. Your saved answers are never added to the email.
Links to other sites
We link to official sites like colleges, scholarship providers, and government agencies. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
